Haadibadi believes that all people should have access to learning and find a stage for expression. We are a community-led initiative and we are committed to the work of building the movement for a publicly owned, free library system that is
accessible to all and creating space for learning and expression through theatre.
Creative and Independent learning opportunities are becoming more expensive and inaccessible. Children from unprivileged and marginalised communities find it harder to access. The post pandemic world has further widened the gap of learning
opportunities for these communities with the disadvantage of lack of available technology and against the run of everyday survival. There is a dire need to bridge these gaps in the communities and the country at large and connecting the dots
for meaningful learning and voices of expression through art and performance.
There is a need to bring various segments of society to the forefront to include them in the process of sustainable learning and development. Haadibadi is one such forum that provides the necessary space for children and youth to explore learning beyond the classrooms and at the same time enabling them to comprehend their role as an individual in societal transformation. Haadibadi's mission of introducing innovative and imaginative forms of learning to the children and youth of the working classes show their enthusiasm in participating in the development of education sector.
ಹಾದಿಬದಿ ಗೆ ಬೇಟಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಬಾಲ್ಯದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಒಂದು ಕನಸಿನ ಲೋಕ ಸಿಗಬಾರದೇ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿತ್ತು. ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲ ಗೆಳಯರು ಅವರು ಬದುಕುವ ನೆಲದಲ್ಲೇ ಆ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ರೂಪಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ. ಇದು ಓದು, ಬರಹ, ಚಿತ್ರಕಲೆ, ರಂಗಕಲೆ,ಸಿನಿಮಾ, ಅಟೋಟಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಮಗ್ರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಇರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಶಾಲೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲವಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವ ರೀತಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಕರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಹಾದಿಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುವ ಮೆಂಟರ್ಸ್ ತಳಕ್ಕಿಳಿದು ಸಂವಾದಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ ಇಷ್ಟ ಆಯ್ತು.
We certainly have been very fortunate to be associated with Haadibadi. Your theatre approach brought a wave of fresh air and helped our staff on looking at every facet of their work from a different perspective. It surely brought in lot of empathy and a culture of seeing things from the other point of you. I think the theatre approach also helped in getting into the inner recess of the mind and helped people to address the deep seated issues tucked in the back burner, they were comfortable with. Individually I think this helped in deep inner reflection and break those shackles we sometimes chained ourselves to. Thus these activities brought in individual transformation as also greater esprit de corps at an organisational level. I am sure that with your present initiative you will be able to reach out to more number of people and thus serve the society at large.
It gives me utmost happiness to know the people of Haadibadi and their dedication in tackling the gap in systems of learning and enabling every child to be independent thinkers. The initiative of Haadibadi is commendable as it empowers the children by providing them a free space for creative expression through various resources.
What intrigued me about Haadibadi is that, they are trying to inculcate in children an interest in reading. Which we see dwindling away because of TV, video games and many other distractions. The schools are so overburdened with academic needs there is hardly any time, let alone will to promote leisure reading. Haadibadi also provides the children an opportunity to express themselves through different activities like theatre, storytelling, painting etc.
HaadiBadi! One of the unique initiative I have come across in the recent times! A space for kids from the underprivileged background to access high quality books and other resources. Lot of effort and courage goes into running a space of this sort. Appreciate Ravi and his team for taking this up and putting their heart into it. We at VFC as Volunteers, will always be happy to collaborate and be of any support for the Library. Keep it going.
